Born in Newfoundland and Labrador, now living in Ottawa with her family, Thornhill Verma captures the vast coastlines of Newfoundland and Labrador in oils on canvas. Attempts to capture these fishing places and rugged shorelines are part of an important cultural and historical record, especially as climate change threatens coastlines – this country’s being the longest on the planet – and the ways of life of those who live there.
