Inspired by a deep appreciation for nature, Erin Thibault Morphy’s artwork is grounded in colour and a sense of mood set by nature. Based in Ottawa, Erin paints in her studio here as well as in Sedona during the Canadian winters.
Both cities seasons and palettes find their way in to her work, from our peaceful lakes and snowy winters to Arizona’s red rocks and glowing skies. Her palette changes organically depending on the landscape she finds herself in. Yellows, teals and turquoise when in a warm climate, rustic greens and earthy tones when working in Canada.
Erin starts with a feeling that can be inspired by light or a brief passing moment, with the painting evolving organically from there. She feels compelled to translate the environment in which she lives, in order to express her gratitude and for the incredible beauty of nature.
